Basketball Uniform Basics

Basketball is a classic American sport whose history goes back over a century. It’s a great option for parents looking to find a sport to enroll their children in. The sport provides positions for players of all sizes, teaches them team work and gives them a great workout.

One thing your child will need to participate is a uniform. If you’re coaching this year, it might be your responsibility to pick basketball team uniforms for everyone on your child’s team. There are several options to do this.

Basketball uniforms generally consist only of shorts and the jersey’s top. You can pick these up at any sporting goods store or the internet. Both should carry the color you need for your team. The internet will provide more options in terms of different colors, so plan on ordering them if your team has a rare or unique color.

Many teams w will opt for reversible basketball uniforms. When two teams play each other, one team will generally wear their colored jersey to show they’re the home team. The visiting team wears white.

Lastly, there are warm ups, which are basically longer t-shirts and pants. They resemble track uniforms worn during warm ups. Unless your kid is a teenager, warm ups probably aren’t necessary and can be skipped to save money.

If you’re looking to save money and are only responsible for your child’s jersey, search out parents whose child played on the team last year and no longer needs their jersey. Chances are they might even give the uniform away for free
